LAMBORGINI HURACAN LP 610-4

Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4, The End.

We drove some wild coupes like the Jaguar F-Type R, Corvette ZO6 and the McLaren 570s, they all evoke strong emotions.  Their looks provoke perceptions of the wind, giving the illusion of moving without actually moving and the sensation of complete control while you are driving them.

The Huracan is a knife edge that mocks the wind, daring the wind to resist it.  It fits you, the driver, like a glove becoming an extension of your body and your mind.  There is no drive, in our experience to date, like the Huracan.

Performance

Starting with the specs, mid-engine 5.2 L V10 with 610 hp at 8250 rpm, 560 Nm (413 lb.-ft.) at 8250 rpm and four-wheel drive.  The Huracan can genuinely make you feel the power all the way to the redline in each gear, the way this car accelerates it is not about going to 100 kph as fast as possible.  On the contrary, its life goal purpose to do that in a way that every inch of your body becomes one with the Huracan in a way that fills you with confidence and lets you wield power where and when you need it.

Transmission

It is easy to think this car has a CV transmission, that is how smooth the shifting is.   This car changes gears faster than a blink, no make that 2 shifts in a blink of an eye, it is that fast.  It is like having two gearboxes aiding each other, this one of the best dual clutches we ever tested to date.  The Huracan has 7 speeds, it manages correctly to deliver the power in perfect balance between all of them. The buttery smooth power delivery is nothing like we felt before in any other vehicle.

Four Wheel Drive

The four-wheel drive system is built in a way you can feel how the power is going to which wheel, planting the car on the road, and giving you the confidence it is going to go where you point the nose.  It is an absolute pleasure to dive into a corner and planting your foot on the power after you cross the apex, accelerating in breathtaking, spectacular fashion, but an utterly predictable way, that brings a huge grin to your face.

Braking

The brakes are 6 piston callipers, with carbon ceramic brakes up front, and 4 pistons callipers on the rear.   This was our first time to try them on the street. They are highly responsive, and at first seem a touch grabby, so you need to take it for a long drive and adjust to them.   We are sure you have not experienced stopping power like this before.

Driving Modes

‘Strada’ mode is your daily drive mode, the car drives really moderate, and the exhaust flaps are closed so you can have a quieter driving experience that doesn’t mean any lack of power or handling, we did some runs in Strade and it is perfect it takes the bumps and shifts the gears so smoothly.

‘Sport’ mode is like driving a whole other car, the first thing you hear is the exhaust opening up, you can feel the engine is ready to attack the roads more responsively, the shifts are super fast, and the suspension stiffens up, it is an entirely different driving experience.

‘Corsa’ mode is when the Huracan was at its most track-ready, the suspension stiffens, even more, the throttle response is even faster, the turns are so precise and you can feel the 4WD system is reacting in a way to achieve the best power delivery and the best way to get out of the corner.

Comfort and Technology

It is clear that Lamborghini gave these seats a lot of thought, they are incredibly comfortable, but supportive whether you are driving on the track, or driving across town.  They are very configurable, along with lumbar support. The cockpit is quite spacious even for a tall or big person, and the driver's vision is unobstructed - forward. Keeping track of drivers to the side and the rear of you is a little more challenging and requires a careful eye.

The 12.3" HD TFT instrument panel in front of the driver is where you can control everything in the car is split into 2 screens so you can use 2 functions at once like the speedometer and navigation, everything is controlled through the controls of the centre console.

Also, there is a small screen in the centre console to view the Oil temperature, pressure and battery statutes and the information from the air conditioning unit.

The only problem we found with the Huracan, is what will I do if I want to have a drive in my Lamborghini go for a cup of Karak, where would I rest my cup?  There are no cup holders.

Conclusion

AT THE END OF THIS FANTASTIC TEST DRIVE, WE ALL WANTED TO OWN ONE.  THIS IS A PERFECT CAR ALL AROUND, IT LOOKS AND FEELS GOOD EVEN AFTER AN EXTENDED TEST-DRIVE ALL AROUND THE STREETS OF DOHA - QATAR.  IT REACTS VERY WELL IN ALL DRIVING SITUATION AND ONCE THE TIME'S RIGHT TO GO FULL THROTTLE, AND YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED.
